THE ADVANTAGE OF RESEARCH
We are a university-based cancer center, and because of this, our patients receive not only the best of care, but also access to the latest discoveries of our researchers, oncologists, and other specialists.
As our investigators learn more about the origins, prevention, and treatment of cancer, they translate these laboratory discoveries into advances in patient care. Because we are a regional leader in research in cancer disparities, our providers are uniquely aware of the disproportionate impact that the burden of cancer has on certain minority populations.
The University of Illinois Cancer Center offers multidisciplinary cancer clinics, a cancer genetics program, clinical trials, and many support services, including an American Cancer Society Patient Navigator Center. When it comes to our patients, the University of Illinois Cancer Center is changing cancer research and care. For good.
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS CANCER CENTER AND CANCER DISPARITIES
We pride ourself on our distinguished work with persons for whom cancer presents a heavier burden than usual. We are also well-known for our studies of how cancer affects the disadvantaged, specific ethnic groups, and minorities differently, a field known as cancer health disparities.
