Why Outreach is important

Upcoming Events:

The Cancer Center is deeply committed to helping residents of the communities that we serve, particularly those who are medically-underserved. We are keenly aware of the disparities that exist among minority and ethnic populations when it comes to cancer risk, prevention, and treatment. Our Outreach Program plays an important role in addressing these disparities.

Whether it’s access to care, access to clinical trials, screening, information about preventive behaviors, or genetics, members of our team go into our communities to study, communicate, and provide support to alleviate the unequal burden that cancer poses to many of our constituents.

By forming strategic partnerships with other health organizations, non-profits, and public health administrations, we provide the most comprehensive information and service to the greatest amount of people. Our work in the field enables us to communicate information about available clinical trials, which they may not have learned about otherwise.
