Most of our inpatient experiences occur at UIC Medical Center (UIMC), a 500-bed hospital. Pediatric care at UIMC includes a tertiary care inpatient unit, a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and a high-volume normal newborn nursery.
Our program is housed within the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, the largest medical school in Illinois. The UIC campus is located directly west of the Chicago Loop in an area that includes two historic neighborhoods, as well as the Illinois Medical District—the world's largest concentration of advanced public and private health care facilities. UIMC caters to a diverse population, providing primary care to the surrounding urban community while also serving as a tertiary referral center.
