PREREQUISITES AND PLACEMENT IN THE CURRICULUM: Must have completed M3 Medicine Core Clerkship.

PURPOSE:
•  Intensive management of cardiac patients.
•  Elective rotation for students that desire increased experience with management of acutely ill cardiac patients.

COMPETENCIES: Assessment of critical care patients, analyzing EKG ’s, graphics, lab values, echocardiograms, and cardiac CATH films.

INSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES: Direct patient care, guidance during bedside procedures, and CCU rotation presentation of topics.
   
ASSESSMENT: During and at the end of rotation. Assessed by CCU service cardiologist/CCU Director.
