Access to Education

The office of medical advancement: giving

The Office of Medical Advancement seeks to connect alumni to the college and raise funds to support research, education and patient care initiatives. Through coordinated efforts with both the college and UI Hospital, we strive for "access to excellence" in medical education, research and care for Illinois and beyond. The Office of Medical Advancement activities consist of major-gift fundraising, alumni relations, communications, events, stewardship and annual fundraising.

The mission of the College of Medicine is to enhance the health of the citizens of Illinois through educating physicians and biomedical scientists, advancing our knowledge of health and disease, and providing healthcare in a setting of education and research.
Gift Funds support many special programs and include professorships, fellowships, and scholarships in all academic disciplines; research efforts; and building projects.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine and the University of Illinois Hospital's Office of Advancement staff work to match donor interests to institutional priorities. These priorities are based on the college's mission. Development officers work closely with college and UI Hospital administration and the various departments at all four medical school sites to determine specific fundraising needs.  Every gift is allocated according to the wishes of the donor.
